Recording
Building
recording is undertaken using measured surveys or rectified architectural
photography as a basis for preparation of drawings and analysis
and interpretation of the survey evidence. This is supplemented
by sampling and identification of materials and archival searches
into building history.
Recording
may focus on a particular element of the building, for example recent
recording work at Lincoln's Inn Chapel was confined to the plasterwork.
Recording was an essential part of work at Holborn Town Hall and
the archaeological site of Rushen Abbey.
