Consultants to the Practice

Colin Burns, Master Mason, has over thirty years practical experience in the repair and conservation of a wide range of historic masonry types, much of the time with English Heritage, and is an experienced trainer and supervisor. For over 20 years he was senior technical officer and then principal training officer at English Heritage, based in the latter post at the Building Conservation Training Centre at Fort Brockhurst. He has developed sound practices in minimal intervention repair systems of masonry buildings and has carried out training and exemplar work in Canada, Israel, Scotland and Ireland. He is the principal tutor on Building Conservation Masterclasses in Masonry at West Dean College.
